RES Offices
Second place entry for a new 2000m2 zero carbon office facility for RES (Renewable Energy Systems). The site is on open Greenbelt land and the design was developed to have minimal visual impact. Existing land profiles enabled an earth sheltered design. The primary structure was exposed as wide timber fins on the front elevations. These were angled at varying degrees to control solar gain.
BT Regional Offices
The new building will have 4,750 sqm of floor space to provide office accommodation for 500 employees over four floors. The Business Centre will provide modern, predominantly open plan, office space that will enable rapidly changing occupation patterns and fit-out plans The office spaces will be naturally ventilated with openable windows where possible augmented when needed by chilled air supplied through perimeter trench grills and passive chilled beams.
